FAQ
When is payment due? Do you do payment plans?
This varies by session type. All sessions require $300 deposit at booking. This cost is for the photo session and reservation of photographers' time.
Any session with a balance will be required to be paid in full before session date.
Any sessions with print or digital purchase is due at the time of purchase in the online gallery.
Folio product payments are made at the time of in-person reveal order prior to the creation of folio boxes.
Payment plans may be arranged, and the product will be received after the balance is reached on the account.
Can I extend the session on the day of?
Session times for most on-location and mobile studio sessions are usually a bit flexible as long as nothing is currently booked after. For session time longer than 3 hours, an add on fee may apply.
For weddings I reserve enough time before and after to cover any extra needs, but a significant add on for time should be discussed as soon as possible to avoid scheduling conflicts.
Studio, Hotel, and Limited Edition/Super Mini Sessions sessions are strictly by schedule, booking 2 slots may be needed for extra time.
What kind of gear do you use?
Canon camera and lenses, Wacom Intuos pro, Adobe Creative Suite, Natural light and OCF as needed. And of course soooo much coffee and music :)
Do I have to order prints through you?
Not at all! With the all inclusive session, you receive all digital images from your session, including a studio print release, as a download option, and are free to print where you wish. I do provide lab recommendations for quality.
You may also choose to use my professional labs, and can order directly from your gallery! I offer generous discounts for the first 48 hours of your gallery going live! Printing with my lab will guarantee the highest quality and personalized customer service available to you.
You did a lot to make this session amazing! Don't ruin your prints with a sub-par quality lab!
Do you shoot (destination) weddings?
I do! I shoot weddings large and small, local and destination, and can build custom packages for your unique needs.

Sometimes we may be able to accommodate a small wedding or fill a cancellation. We still have openings for engagement sessions.
Will there be a second shooter?
Absolutely for larger weddings, events and shoots vary on need.
What do I wear?!
After booking your session with IA, we will get together for a consultation. Consultations can be in person, over the phone or in a video chat, and are available for any pre-shoot session to make sure we cover all the topics we need before go time!
General tips: for family sessions, plan to coordinate instead of 'match'. Solids photograph better than prints and graphics. White and black can be classic colors, but work better if you contrast to your session backdrop, ie: if its snowy, white may make you look 'lost', bright red or deep green may help you stand out. In a folio studio session, black on black can look classic, but a shiny black may add dimension and depth. We can discuss and go over your options together.
I've never booked a professional shoot before! Whats the process with IA?
The process for each session type is different. From the main menu, please see the section you are interested in, for a more detailed response to this question.
The general process:
1) Decide on the type of session you are looking to book
2) You pay the booking deposit and sign and return the contracts (The full session fee is due at least 2 weeks before the session date, for Weddings and certain studio rentals etc, it may be 4-6 weeks before the session date)
3) You'll receive a reminder before your session
4) Day of! Arrive about 15 min early, and we will get set up and sign any model releases. We have a super fantastic creating session, we say our goodbyes and I get into the studio to cull the images and begin editing. A private online gallery is created, or your appointment is set for in person reveal if doing a folio session.
5) Within 4 weeks (typically 2-3 for photo sessions, longer for weddings) you see all the beautiful images either online in your private gallery, or in person in your beautifully handcrafted folio boxes and matted prints, or large print deliveries!
All of the fine details vary by session types and products. These are general expectations.
